1. This guide follows the previous guide showing how to add a custom domain you own. If you haven't followed those steps yet, we recommend you start there, then come back to this guide.
2. If your domain is connected to Namecheap, you can press the continue button, and then the get started button.
3. Next, you'll be prompted to select your method of connection, nameservers or record pointing. We recommend connecting via nameservers as we can help you manage any problems that arise during the connection process. More info on this can be found here.
Connecting your Namecheap domain via Nameservers
1. If you choose to connect via nameservers, you'll be prompted to login to your Namecheap account.
2. From the homepage of your Namecheap account, under the "Account" tab on the right, go to the "Domain List" where you'll find your specific domain.
3. Next to your domain name, go to "Manage", and find the section called "Nameservers". Once in this section, look for your current nameservers, which should look like this. If you cannot find your nameservers, try searching "How to update nameservers" in the Namecheap help centre.
4. Select "Custom DNS", and start to enter the Bizwise nameservers one at a time. You should be adding four nameservers total, which can be seen below. If you need more slots you can click "+ Add Nameserver". After adding these new Bizwise nameservers, make sure to remove the existing nameservers.
5. After entering the new nameservers and removing the old ones, click the green checkmark to save your changes. This may take up to a minute.
6. If successful, you'll see this screen, and you will be done the process.
7. If there is an error, you might see "Did not update successfully.". If see another message saying "Not removed yet", this means there might be a non Bizwise nameserver (forgot to remove an old one). If you see "Not added yet", you may have forgotten to add in one of the four Bizwise nameservers.
Connecting your Namecheap domain via Record Pointing
1. If you choose to connect via record pointing, you'll be prompted to login to your Namecheap account.
2. From the homepage of your Namecheap account, under the "Account" tab on the right, go to the "Domain List" where you'll find your specific domain.
3. Next to your domain name, go to "Manage", and find the section called "Advanced DNS". Once you have found your advanced DNS settings, go back to the editor page from where you can continue.
4. The next step is to update your DNS Records. You'll see a screen like the one below, where you have to remove two existing records, and replace them with the ones below. Once they have been replaced, click save all changes.
5. If successful, you'll see this screen which means you've finished the process.
6. If there is an error, you might see "Did not update successfully.". If see another message saying "Not removed yet", this means a required record is ponting somewhere else (you forgot to remove one of the old records). If you see "Not added yet", you may have forgotten to add in one of the new required records.
